AboutACDF (Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion)
ACDF is a neck surgery where a herniated or degenerated cervical disc is removed and the vertebrae are fused. It is effective for relieving nerve root or spinal cord compression in the cervical spine.
Process
A small incision is made in the front of the neck to remove the damaged disc. A spacer or cage with bone graft is inserted, and a metal plate is fixed to support the fusion. Most patients experience improved mobility and pain relief shortly after surgery.
Benefits
Quick neck pain relief
Prevents nerve damage
